WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 28, 2020) – Cadasta is thrilled to launch our new Training and Support Center to support our global partners in their work to document and secure land and property rights. The Cadasta Training and Support Center allows partners to more easily and efficiently access free, online knowledge resources. The Center combines all of Cadasta’s training materials, instructional guides, and support request items into a single location.
The Training and Support Center is organized into three main areas: Training Courses, the Knowledge Base, and the User Community. Training Courses organize participant and trainer materials into five new training modules, including handouts, training videos, and quizzes that cover data collection, data analysis, GIS, land rights, and other topics. The Knowledge Base contains step-by-step instructions with visuals on how to perform tasks such as how to edit a survey form or add a feature layer to a map, as well as how-to guides for the most commonly asked questions from users after training. The User Community section is an interactive space for users to share questions, get answers, and dialogue with the Cadasta team and other users through a community forum and message board. Cadasta staff will monitor the posts and respond to support users throughout their journey. All materials on the Support Center site are available in multiple partner languages—French, Hindi, Indonesian, Kiswahili, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Commenting on the launch of the Training and Support Center, Cadasta CEO Amy Coughenour Betancourt said, “Our top priority is providing our users with everything they need to be successful in advancing land rights with communities on the ground. Especially in the Covid-19 era, partners need to be able to access all the necessary training materials, find answers to their questions, and connect with other Cadasta users.”
Cadasta Global Program Director Tony Piaskowy noted, “This site helps Cadasta extend training beyond a single learning session and allows for an ongoing process of learning in community with others. We’re excited to share this new resource and look forward to getting feedback on how to make it even better.”
